The 2021 Ford F150 was completely redesigned this year which is quite an event given that the F-150 is the best-selling vehicle overall in Canada and it has been for over half a century. Whenever a model is that popular, a new generation will be quite the story and there will be a lot of attention and scrutiny paid to the new model. Ford certainly did its homework with the all new Ford F-150 which offers better capacity, more technology, and an unavailable hybrid engine which delivers performance and efficiency.
The first thing you notice about the Ford F-150 is that its overall design hasn't changed that much since the previous generation. On the other hand, there are some subtle touches which make this F-150 a lot easier to recognize on the road and people who see it will know it's the new model. When you step inside, however, that's where you see the biggest change. With a new fully digital available instrument cluster as well as an available 12-inch centre display with Sync4, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Wi-Fi Hotspot, and optional Bang & Olufsen sound system, the 2021 Ford F-150 is more connected than ever.
It is also more powerful. It features six available engines including a brand new hybrid powertrain which offers 430 horsepower along with 570 pound-feet of torque. Better yet, despite the fact that this Powerboost engine has more torque than any other F-150 engine option, it is by far the most efficient with an average fuel consumption rating which can go under 10 L per 100 km. This hybrid powertrain can also tow 12,700 lbs and has a maximum payload of 2120 lbs.
The V8 engine is still offered with 13,000 pounds of towing capacity and 3,325 pounds of total payload. It also delivers 400 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque. Other notable engine options include a turbodiesel V6 with 250 horsepower and 440 lbs-ft of torque or a 3.5 L Ecoboost V6 with 400 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque. This engine delivers 14,100 lbs of towing capacity and 3,250 lbs of payload.
The new Ford F-150 shines where it really matters. It has the performance you want and new features such as an available 7.2 kilowatt onboard system which allows you to charge tools on the work site. You can also opt for a range of available features that make working with the F-150 a lot easier including a new work surface inside as well as seats that can fold almost all the way back so that you can rest between jobs.
